Pursuit Advisor, Business Development

TMIG’s Business Development Team supports the development and growth of the company by identifying strategic opportunities and initiatives and preparing technically sound, compliant and visually appealing proposals and marketing collateral.

As a Pursuit Advisor your role will be to work with technical subject matter experts (SMEs) to lead the preparation, approval, and submission of TMIG’s competitive proposals and marketing initiatives. The position is accountable for the timely delivery of all quality proposals within the approval cycle time at TMIG.


Project Delivery: Assist in the end-to-end proposal submission process to ensure all expectations, actions, approvals, and timelines are defined and met. Analyze RFP documents, ascertain proposal requirements and expectations. Arrange and participate in proposal kick-off meetings and assist in identifying win strategies, approaches, and teaming. Collaborate with technical staff, subconsultants, and SMEs to develop persuasive, competitive, and strategic proposals with consistent voice and style. Write proposal narrative, executive summaries, cover letters, and boilerplate material. Establish consistency and quality assurance processes in the production of all deliverables and ensure the quality control of all submission materials. Edit language for grammar, spelling, consistency, and tone. Participate in proposal debriefings to identify improvement opportunities. Customize resumes and promotional material to respond to individual proposal needs. Assist in the graphic design and content of marketing material, including service brochures, project profiles, presentations, award nomination submissions, and advertisements using Adobe Creative Suite software. Maintain strategic opportunities database via Ajera and Vision CRM. Ongoing training may involve professional development courses in the evenings or on weekends. Travel may be required.

Team Management: Oversee multiple projects simultaneously while providing strong support to the team at all times. Maintain a good relationship with both internal and external stakeholders. Train and mentor junior team members. Lead by example to promote a high-performance team culture.


General: Success in supporting multi-disciplinary teams within a fast pace, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a positive, professional attitude. Strong attention to detail and ability to produce quality results. Excellent organization, time management, and prioritization skills. Ability to effectively balance conflicting priorities. Works collaboratively in a team environment, as well as independently motivated with minimal supervision. Exceptional use of the English language is required for both written, and verbally communicating with internal and external clients. Strong knowledge and understanding of marketing and business development best practices.

Technical: Demonstrated proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat and InDesign. Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator an asset.

Professional Knowledge and Qualifications: Post-secondary in business, marketing, communications, public relations, or an equivalent level of experience. Minimum 2 years experience in the A/E/C/ industry an asset.
