Sherwood Forest Pumping Station and Davis Drive Meter Chamber
This project involves upgrades to a potable water pumping station and the inclusion of a meter in an existing chamber that supplies water to 39 homes. The work includes process and electrical upgrades to the pumping station and the addition of a new flow meter to the Davis Drive Chamber in East Gwillimbury.
Scope of Services
TMIG completed a condition assessment of both the potable water pumping station and the metering chamber and provided detailed design and contract administration. The works involved the provision of 3-phase power to the fire pump using a phase converter and implementation of pumps, piping, valves, MCC’s, and starters within the pump station, including miscellaneous civil, structural, and architectural upgrades. Work at the Davis Drive metering chamber included the replacement of piping and provision of a new fire meter.
The project included extensive coordination with the Town of East Gwillimbury and adjacent developers. It was proposed to be implemented in phases based on the existing single phase power and planned future 3-phase power. The project was the first project that York Region undertook with their new Project Server project management system and involved a fully collaborative project approach with the project management, capital delivery, and operations staff through all phases of design.
