Richmond Hill Centre / Langstaff Gateway EA
TMIG completed a Schedule ‘B’ Class Environmental Assessment to determine the Regional water and wastewater servicing requirements for the Richmond Hill Centre / Langstaff Gateway Urban Growth Centre. The Centre was identified as an Urban Growth Centre in Places to Grow. The Centre is approximately 117 ha with planned populations of 48,000 residents and 31,000 employments.
Scope of Services
Services included a detailed capacity assessment for the existing Regional sanitary sewer and existing Regional water system, the findings of which led to a Problem / Opportunity Statement. The EA included identifying Regional sanitary and water servicing alternatives to address the Problem / Opportunity Statement, evaluating the alternatives, conducting a value engineering session, and leading a public consultation centre.
Project highlights included hydraulic modelling, stakeholder consultation, and completing studies within an existing built environment. The project included coordination with a number of stakeholders, including two municipalities, MTO, Highway 407, Hydro One, TRCA, utilities, Metrolinx, and CN Rail.
