Pine Valley North Sewage Pumping Station
This project involves a sewage pumping station, gravity sewers, watermain, and two pedestrian / utility bridges to service a proposed development in Block 40/47 in the City of Vaughan.
Scope of Services
For the Block 40/47 Landowners Group and ultimately the City of Vaughan, TMIG is providing full engineering services to design a sewage pumping station with an initial peak flow rate of approximately 128L/s and a potential ultimate peak flow rate of 248L/s. The work includes a 400mm-diameter 1,500m-long sanitary forcemain. The team also designed two pedestrian/utility bridges (200m and 230m spans) across Pine Valley with watermains (300mm and 400mm) and 450mm sewer suspended underneath the bridges while providing pedestrian access across the valley. The project also includes a hydraulic review of downstream sewer capacity to accommodate station flows.
Included in the project is the design of two trenchless sewer crossings (one 475m and one 240m) and one watermain crossing (240m) of watercourses containing Redside Dace habitat. Also includes the construction of a wet well/dry well sewage pumping station with a two-hour emergency storage tank. The construction activity is in sensitive valley lands and requires close coordination with TRCA and MNRF. The station is equipped with standby power facilities and an odour control system.
