Keswick North Elevated Tank and Watermain
This project involved the design of a new 5.7ML composite elevated tank complete with a rechlorination facility and standby power. The objective was to provide additional storage capacity to service the approved growth within the Keswick water distribution system.
Scope of Services
As prime consultant, TMIG completed a Class ‘B’ Environmental Assessment for the elevated tank, and provided full engineering services to complete the design, inspection, and contract administration for the 5.7ML elevated tank, 500mm watermain, 6m-wide access road, and detention pond.
The elevated tank was the third storage facility within the same pressure zone. The elevated tank is a composite-style steel tank mounted on a concrete pedestal. The interior of the pedestal houses a separate valve room, electrical room, chlorine gas disinfection room, and chlorine gas scrubber room, complete with piping, valving, electrical, HVAC, lighting, and a portable standby generator. The elevated tank also includes a passive mixing system and recirculation pump. The project involved the coordination of specialized inspection services for the geotechnical, welding, and protective coatings systems.
