Notable features include Sherbourne Common, Sugar Beach, and a stormwater management system integrated into the Water’s Edge Promenade. The East Bayfront redevelopment involved servicing the 22ha site situated between Lakeshore Boulevard and Lake Ontario at Jarvis Street and Parliament Street. East Bayfront is expected to contain 7,000 residential units, employment for 8,000 people, and 1,000,000 square feet of commercial space centred around a park.
Scope of Services
TMIG provided full engineering services, including the functional design, preliminary design, detailed design, and contract administration for the proposed roads, watermains, sanitary sewers, storm sewers, stormwater management measures, and utility conduits. Design services included 1.5km of external sanitary sewers through the busy downtown streets from East Bayfront to the Scott Street Pumping Station.
Design work had to demonstrate a high level of sustainable practices with respect to balancing the environmental, social, and economic considerations.
