East Bayfront – External Sanitary Sewers
This project involved 1.2km of 375mm and 450mm sanitary sewers from the intersection of Lower Sherbourne Street and Queens Quay East to the intersection of The Esplanade and Scott Street. To mitigate the socioeconomic impact of constructing a new sewer along a busy commercial street, the 340m stretch of sewer along The Esplanade was designed to be installed using either open cut or trenchless construction methods. Trenchless technologies were also employed in crossing major intersections.
Scope of Services
TMIG provided full engineering services, including detailed design, inspection, and contract administration for sanitary sewer upgrades required for the proposed development within the East Bayfront precinct.
This project was undertaken under tight timelines and challenging subsurface conditions (i.e. soils, existing infrastructure) to deliver critical infrastructure required to support the redevelopment of waterfront lands from one-storey light industrial to a vibrant community with significant public spaces.
