Dryden Boulevard Extension EA
This project involves a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment Study to identify alternative solutions for the extension of Dryden Boulevard between Deverell Street and Thickson Road. Dryden Boulevard is currently designated as a Type C arterial road of the Town of Whitby Official Plan. The Town of Whitby Transportation Master Plan recommended that the protection of the missing Dryden link between Deverell Street and Thickson Road be maintained as it will improve the overall east-west connectivity in the transportation network. The proposed extension will complete this link.
Scope of Services
TMIG was retained to carry out a Schedule ‘B’ Municipal Class EA Study to review alternative solutions and identify the recommended solution for the extension of Dryden Boulevard.
The proposed extension crosses a strip of land that features a woodlot and meadow adjacent to Pringle Creek, a cold / cool water fishery regulated by CLOCA. Part of this assignment includes reviewing crossing structure options, such as prefabricated spans and cast-in-place alternatives. Two public meetings will be held to engage Whitby residents, landowners, and businesses in the EA process as well as demonstrate the benefits of the project.
