Beaver Creek Stormwater Retrofit Design
The Headford South Business Park encompasses approximately 80ha of existing industrial development presently draining untreated and un-attenuated directly to Beaver Creek. TMIG was retained to provide engineering services for the Headford South Business Park in Richmond Hill. A proposed 30ha industrial development within the park provided an opportunity to combine SWM requirements for the development with retrofit treatment of the existing 80ha by constructing a pond within the Beaver Creek valley.
Scope of Services
TMIG provided conceptual and detailed design of the facility, along with all reporting to demonstrate its effectiveness in treating runoff that previously discharged directly to the adjacent watercourse. Following the build-out of the adjacent lands, TMIG was retained to coordinate pond cleaning operations in advance of Town assumptions of the works.
The innovative wetland pond concept, along with associated valley compensation measures and on-site sustainable technologies, were evaluated and documented within the environmental and stormwater management plan, followed by detailed design of the facility. Pond clean-out operations were planned in conjunction with the Town and TRCA, and utilized the latest technologies to ensure that this work was completed to a very high environmental standard.
