Aurora SPS Hauled Wastewater Receiving Facility
The existing facility consists of a concrete ramp designed to fit three sewage disposal trucks, with disposal pipe connections and a trench drain installed at the bottom of the ramp for drainage and cleaning purposes. TMIG has been retained to conduct facility upgrades to the Aurora SPS Hauled Wastewater Receiving Facility in the Town of Aurora. Since the existing facility is not equipped with an automatic sampling system or any flow monitoring equipment, the quality of the septage is only able to be determined through random grab samples. This project involves the design of an access control system, inlet works, and pretreatment system for the Aurora SPS Facility. The design will provide the facility with the ability for three hauler trucks to discharge hauled wastewater simultaneously.
Scope of Services
TMIG is providing project management, detailed design, pre-purchase and tender assistance, and contract administration. The scope of services also includes securing necessary approvals, including Environmental Compliance Approval, a Lake Simcoe Regional Conservation Authority Permit, and a Building Permit.
The installation of this pretreatment system will resolve the issue of solids depositing into the wet well and excessive wear of equipment at the station. It will also include provisions such as flow monitoring, pH and total solids measurement, and screenings and grit removal from the septage at the Aurora SPS.
