Markham Steeles Realty Inc. – Walmart Infiltration Bed Design

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Markham Steeles Realty Inc. commercial development lands are within the Tapscott Industrial Lands in north east Scarborough near Steeles Avenue and Markham Road. As part of the Tapscott Industrial lands, the stormwater management requirements for the Markham Steeles Realty property have been stipulated within the FESP, including infiltration guidelines.

SCOPE OF SERVICES

For the proposed Walmart development, The Municipal Infrastructure Group was retained to undertake the design of a proposed infiltration bed system to be located on the Wal-Mart site within the Markham Steeles Realty Inc. commercial development lands. The drawings and design report were compiled in support of the site servicing and grading plans as prepared by Counterpoint Engineering Inc.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

The project included a historical precipitation analysis to estimate the depth of rainfall required to be captured to meet predevelopment annual infiltration volumes. preparation of a Low Impact Development study to define measures suitable for the site conditions to further mitigate the potential impacts of development beyond current standards.
