Barker Business Park

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The Barker Business Park falls within the Official Plan Amendment (OPA) 120 lands in the Town of Richmond Hill, and involves redevelopment of existing agricultural lands along the Highway 404 corridor for employment uses. The development was required to respect and mitigate impacts to the sensitive Rouge River valley which traverses the property.

SCOPE OF SERVICES

The Municipal Infrastructure Group was retained to undertake and manage a multi-disciplinary environmental and servicing investigation in support of the proposed development. In addition to the completion and approval of the Master Environmental Servicing Report, TMIG prepared the designs for two stormwater management facilities, which incorporated wetland elements and large infiltration galleries to further attenuate post-development flow contributions to the receiving watercourse, mitigate thermal impacts, and complement the ecological function of the Rouge valley.
