York – Bathurst Watermain and Road Reconstruction

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project involved 3 km of 400mm diameter water from the Orchard Height Pumping Station at the North West Elevated Tank in the Town of Aurora along Bathurst Street through King Township to the West Newmarket Reservoir in the Town of Newmarket and approximately 5 km of road reconstruction involving the urbanization and widening of Bathurst Street from 2 lanes to 4/5 from just North of Wellington Street along the busy Bathurst Street corridor to Mulock Drive.

SCOPE OF SERVICES

For York Region, The Municipal Infrastructure Group Ltd. provided full engineering services for a Schedule "B” Class Environmental Assessment, detailed design and contract administration for the above noted works.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

This project crosses two jurisdictions, therefore, extensive consultation and co-ordination was required to ensure the smooth implementation of the work. Review of proposed works resulted in the recommendation for upgrades to the existing system to obtain the most efficient utilization of the new distribution system.
