TMIG’s Municipal Team wins and delivers projects that span the areas of linear and roads infrastructure. Activities include proposals and pre-positioning for new assignments, completion of studies and environmental assessments to establish solutions, detailed design and approvals for solutions, and continued support through construction and commissioning.
This position is for a Project Manager focused on municipal transportation projects including new road and road reconstruction and municipal infrastructure related to roads.
Project Delivery: Manage projects for scope, schedule, budget, client satisfaction, risk, and quality. Financial management of projects, including resource management, change-orders, reporting, and client invoicing. Technical direction of staff and multi-disciplinary project teams to complete deliverables, adhere to quality management processes, and obtain all necessary approvals. Oversight of multiple simultaneous projects through to completion.
Technical Support: Provide design services or technical expertise for linear and road infrastructure projects. Prepare servicing reports and cost estimates. Contribute to company-wide quality management initiatives.
Business Development: Develop and maintain relationships with municipal/approval agencies. Participate in business development initiatives, identify and pursue strategic opportunities, maintain and develop positive relationships with clients, and develop/write proposals.
Team Management: Train and mentor junior team members. Collaborate with other project managers to identify staffing and training requirements. Lead by example to promote a high-performance team culture.
General: Success in leading and motivating technical teams with a results-driven approach while maintaining a positive, professional attitude. Strong attention to detail and ability to produce quality results. Excellent organization, time management, and negotiation skills. Excellent client relationship skills and high level of customer service. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong technical writing skills.
Technical: Strong engineering expertise with in-depth knowledge of industry best practices and standards. Solid understanding of local planning and development approval processes. Ability to identify project issues and quickly find resolutions. Previous project management experience with ability to manage diverse projects of varying complexities. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize team workload to meet tight deadlines. Working knowledge of AutoCAD, LDD, and Civil 3D.
Professional Knowledge and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or equivalent. Minimum 10 years relevant experience and must have road design experience. Professional engineer (P.Eng.) or CET in Ontario. PMP an asset.
