The Water Environment Association of Ontario (WEAO) and Ontario Pollution Control Equipment Association (OPCEA) hosted the 48th Annual WEAO Technical Symposium and OPCEA Exhibition at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre from April 14 through 16, 2019. Several WEAO/OPCEA members, students, researchers, professionals, and other industry experts came together for this largest Canadian technical conference.
One of our top water / wastewater engineers, Dr. Jega Jeganathan, presented a paper on the “Design and Construction of a Sewage Pumping Station to Overcome Level of Complexity and Project Challenges” on April 15th. Jega discussed the salient features of design and construction of a sewage pumping station for a private resort in Southern Ontario. The presentation included the background of the project, design criteria and concept that was used, complexity of the pumping station construction, and a summary of the outcome of the project.
Jega is currently Chair of the WEAO Collection and Conveyance System Committee, and has been an active WEAO member since 2012.
