Halton Region - Acton Watermain Replacement

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

This project involved the abandonment of an existing 150-200 mm diameter cast iron watermain along Main Street between Knox Street and approximately 450m north of Wallace Street, along an urban section of Highway 7 (Main Street) as well as a rural section. Cathodic protection has been added to the existing 300 mm diameter watermain through the urban section and a new 300 mm PVC watermain was installed approximately 450m north of Wallace Street to connect to an existing 300 mm diameter PVC watermain along the rural section. All water services connections and hydrant connections were transferred to either the existing 300 mm ductile iron watermain or new 300mm PVC watermain.

SCOPE OF SERVICES

For Halton Region, The Municipal Infrastructure Group Ltd. provided full engineering services including preliminary design, detailed design, tender period assistance and contract administration for the installation of the new watermain and cathodic protection on the existing watermains.
