Vaughan - Water / Wastewater Master Plan

The City of Vaughan has recently adopted a new City-Wide Official Plan. The New Official Plan was completed and adopted by City Council in September 2010. The City of Vaughan retained The Municipal Infrastructure Group to undertake a City-Wide Water/Wastewater Master Plan Environmental Assessment Study (MPEA) to complement the New Official Plan and to establish the water and wastewater infrastructure required to support the build-out of the New Official Plan. The Water and Wastewater Master Plan is to be co-ordinated and integrated with the Region of York’s Water/Wastewater Master Plan Update (2009) as well as the City’s principles of sustainability as established in the Community Sustainability and Environmental Master Plan (CSEMP) called Green Directions Vaughan.

The Water and Wastewater Master Plan will optimize the efficiency of the City’s current infrastructure, and identify where and how additional capacity may be provided to address the needs of the new development areas outside of the current urban boundary, and redevelopment and intensification within the built boundary.
